The mission of the Pendleton Foundation is to assist Coachella Valley families who are dealing with cancers of all kinds. Since each cancer is as unique as each individual, our goal will be to support families in their decisions regarding treatment through financial assistance according to our bylaws in order to ease the financial impact upon their households.
Karen Pendleton, our namesake, was diagnosed with Pseudomyxoma peritonei, a highly aggressive form of colon cancer. Her experiences while seeking treatment brought to light the great need for support, both financial and emotional, for those battling these illnesses.
“I received the gift cards to assist my husband and me with expenses relating to my breast cancer. We are so grateful for this assistance. We thank the foundation, this meant so much to us. We will never forget your kindness and caring.”
“Thank you so much for the gas cards I received. They are very much appreciated, and very helpful as I anticipate many more 100+ mile trips for treatment. Again, thank you so much.”
A Special Thank You
Since its inception in 2007, BIGHORN Behind A Miracle (BAM) has assisted more than 100,000 local patients in their treatment of cancer.
BAM is dedicated to providing critical funding needed to help in the diagnosis, treatment, research, services and education for those affected by cancer. To date, the organization has donated over $9.1 million in support of Eisenhower Lucy Curci Cancer Center, The Pendleton Foundation, Desert Regional Medical Center and Hanson House Foundation.
This extraordinary fundraising feat is made possible through hard-working volunteers and generous donors who understand the importance of finding a cure for cancer while at the same time adding fun and flair to BAM’s exciting events.
